Aliens
There is so much ambient light in the City, that even at night it never gets
completely dark. That's why there are few alien abductions here.
You would think that the saucers would be attracted by the lights and people,
and by the impossible variety of life. Why bother to kidnap people on a deserted
road out in the country, when you could brazenly land on the roof here and not
get noticed at all?
The aliens could walk in the streets, blending in with the tourists and the
artists in their odd clothes. They could have their own bar in the East Village.
Some people would volunteer, no--compete--to be taken, and sex with aliens would
be no problem. To people in the rest of the country, the people here are already
pretty alien, so it would all be a perfect fit.
